ENVIRONMENT – Our flip flops are made from 100% natural Sri Lankan FSC® certified rubber. As we use natural rubber, this means they are 100% biodegradable, 100% recyclable, 100% vegan and helping protect our environment for future generations. Our rubber is harvested, treated and crafted into comfortable flip flops using material and processes that meet the highest compliance and leave no trace on the natural world around us. This has placed Waves among the rare few all-natural rubber flip flops in the world.

PROVENANCE – Our flip flops are inspired by the magical paradise of Sri Lanka. Our flip flops are crafted entirely from genuine Sri Lankan natural FSC® certified rubber. Our trees are grown in the fertile slopes that run parallel to the rolling hills of the island.

This is my 2nd Waves pair. I wear flip flops as house shoes winter (with Japanese tabi socks) and summer. My first pair I wore constantly during lockdown/working at home for about two years and I’ve never had a pair of flip flops last nearly as long. With other brands the bit that goes between your toes would detach from the sole, but the Waves’ ones have lasted. Works out cheaper than replacing non-eco flip flops every 3-4 months.

Bought these because of their ethical credentials and as I’d hoped they are comfortable to wear. My only issue is they do leave the soles of my feet black. I had kind of expected this, being natural rubber but does mean I need to wash my feet if I’ve been wearing them for any length of time. Hence 4 stars rather than 5. Hopefully this will lessen with wear.
